Helen Vehar
Helen Vehar, 94, a spirited and wonderful mother and grandmother, passed away Monday in Marietta, Ga., with her loving family at her side.
She resided in Chevy Chase, Md., with her daughter, Nila Vehar, and was visiting with her son, Tom Vehar, daughter-in-law, Diane and three grandchildren, Christina, Daniel and Elizabeth in Powder Springs, Ga., at the time of her death.
She worked for 23 years at Crawford Jewelers on Main Street in Butler.
She had loyal and loving friends from many places. She is remembered for her sweetness, selflessness and twinkling eyes and enjoyed her long life, and particularly her love of children.
Her husband John Jacob Vehar passed away in Butler in 1973.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler and attended Annunciation Parish in Washington, D.C.
She was born in 1913 on Valentine's Day in United, Westmoreland County.
She is missed and her memory revered.
<B>VEHAR</B> — Memorial services for Helen Vehar, who died Monday, June 25, 2007, will be held in Powder Springs, Ga., and in Washington, D.C.The family requests no flowers and all contributions be made in her memory to National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, a fund to support the purchase of books for her grandchildren's school library or a charity of the donor's choice.Cremation Society of the SOUTH, Marietta, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
