Kayla Rowland, daughter of Sherry Rowland of Harrisville, was recently awarded a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week at Lycoming College in Williams-port, Lycoming County.Rowland, a senior at Slippery Rock High School, will attend one of four week-long sessions of the economic education program. The Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week sessions offers participants the chance to compete in a simulated private enterprise system.———

Christopher Haley, both recent graduates of Butler High School, have been named the recipients of the 2007 Rosanne Cavalero and Jane Cavalero Scholarships.Distributed by the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, the scholarships are presented to the male and female Butler High School graduates with the highest cumulative grade point average who pursue post-secondary education.Vernon, the daughter of Daniel and Shirley Vernon of Butler, plans to major in accounting at Grove City College.The son of Terrence and Deborah Haley of Butler, Haley will also attend Grove City College, where he plans to study biochemistry.———

She was also named to Who's Who Among American High School Students and received the Rachel Carson Award, the Bechtel Scholarship, the Marlin Riffer Memorial Scholarship and the Gannon University Valedictorian Scholarship.———<B>Raven Bier</B> of Sarver, a recent graduate of Carleton College with a degree in biology, has been selected for membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society and Sigma Xi.
