Kayla Rowland, daughter of Sherry Rowland of Harrisville, was recently awarded a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week at Lycoming College in Williams-port, Lycoming County.Rowland, a senior at Slippery Rock High School, will attend one of four week-long sessions of the economic education program. The Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week sessions offers participants the chance to compete in a simulated private enterprise system.———

Christopher Haley, both recent graduates of Butler High School, have been named the recipients of the 2007 Rosanne Cavalero and Jane Cavalero Scholarships.Distributed by the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, the scholarships are presented to the male and female Butler High School graduates with the highest cumulative grade point average who pursue post-secondary education.Vernon, the daughter of Daniel and Shirley Vernon of Butler, plans to major in accounting at Grove City College.The son of Terrence and Deborah Haley of Butler, Haley will also attend Grove City College, where he plans to study biochemistry.———
<B>James Wong</B>, son of Ted and Felicia Wong of Center Township, was recently awarded a full scholarship to attend Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week at Lycoming College in William-sport, Lycoming County.Wong, a senior at Butler High School, will attend one of four week-long sessions of the economic education program. The Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week sessions offers participants the chance to compete in a simulated private enterprise system.Wong was also recently selected for membership to the National Society of High School Scholars.———<B>Melanie Cherry</B>, daughter of Thomas and Cheryl Cherry of Freeport, has been accepted to Gannon University for the fall 2007 semester.Cherry is a recent graduate of Freeport High School, where she was inducted to the National Honor Society and the National Honor Roll. She was also named to Who's Who Among American High School Students and received the Rachel Carson Award, the Bechtel Scholarship, the Marlin Riffer Memorial Scholarship and the Gannon University Valedictorian Scholarship.———<B>Raven Bier</B> of Sarver, a recent graduate of Carleton College with a degree in biology, has been selected for membership in the Phi Beta Kappa Society and Sigma Xi. Bier was recognized recently at the college's annual honors convocation.Bier is the daughter of Charles and Terry Bier of Sarver.———<B>Beth Lang </B>of Valencia was recently recognized by Eat'n Park Hospitality Group as a recipient of an Eat'n Park educational scholarship.Lang will be a freshman at Strayer University, where she will major in business management.———<B>Megan Bascom</B> of Lyndora was recently recognized by Eat'n Park Hospitality Group as a recipient of an Eat'n Park educational scholarship.Bascom will be a junior at Butler County Community College, where she majors in hospitality management.———<B>Carly Porter</B> of Butler was recently recognized by Eat'n Park Hospitality Group as a recipient of an Eat'n Park educational scholarship.Porter will be a sophomore at Penn State University, where she is an advertising student.
