The Slippery Rock junior high track and field teams broke four school records at the Mercer County Junior High Track and Field Championship Meet, held Friday in Greenville.

Casey Dudek set new girls' team standards in the 800-meter run (two minutes, 41.8 seconds) and the 1,600 run (5:48).

On the boys' side, the 4x100 relay team of Braden Sloan, Brock Sloan, Sean White and Josh Antal now own the school's best time at 52.8 seconds.

The Sloan brothers, along with White and Aric Beachem, set a new record in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:09.1.

Junior High Softball

Sara Cobern and Fallon Bachman both tallied three hits, with Bachman striking out four inside the circle as Butler's junior high softball team defeated Ellwood City, 10-0 on Friday.

Collecting two hits for the Tornado (7-4) were Erin Pennington, Joanna Bellis and Bethany Schmidt.
