Schad

Virginia B. Schad, 88, of Saxonburg died Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Born July 23, 1918, in Free-port, she was the daughter of Lawrence W. and Margaret G. Ross Stevick.

She was a homemaker, and was a 50-year member and past matron of 179 Order of the Eastern Star.

A 1937 graduate of Freeport High School, she was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church. She enjoyed swimming with the senior swim club at Days Inn and raising flowers, but most of all she loved to ride her tractor and keep her lawn mowed.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda D. Schad McDermott of Saxonburg; a grandson, Ethan and his wife, Kellie, McDermott; a granddaughter, Erin McDermott; and three great-grandchildren, Colten, Carlee and Chase.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Schad, whom she married on June 22, 1940, and who died Aug. 24, 1986; and a brother.

Main St., Saxonburg.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
