Richard B. Rider II
Richard B. Rider II, 44, of Saxonburg Road in Butler, died Monday.
Born April 30, 1962, in Butler, he was the son of Ric-hard B. and the late Jean M. Stutz Rider.
A 1981 graduate of Butler High School, he earned three athletic letters in basketball, track, and cross country. He was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning his degree in business. He then earned his teacher's certificate in physical education at Slippery Rock University.
He taught high school health and physical education for a year at the Kirk Middle School in Wilmington, Del., before returning to Butler where he worked for Apria Health Care for the past 13 years.
Mr. Rider was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
In addition to his father, surviving are his wife, Marcia L. Stamp Rider, whom he married in 1990; two stepsons, Jason Sapienza of Mt. Chestnut, and Anthony Sapienza of Fombell, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Steven (Diane) Pelusi of Butler, and Mrs. Richard (Tracey) Snelson of Coatsville, Pa.; two nieces; five nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He enjoyed his family and many friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
