Betty L. Flickinger, 69, of Mars, formerly of Ross Township, died Monday morning at the LAS/St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born in Pittsburgh, May 24, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Baron Layne.

She was a tailor and owned Betty's Tailor Shop in Ross Township.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Howard (Julia M.) Davies of Mars and Mrs. Alan (Karen S.) Lee of Butler; three sons, William P. Flickinger (Cheryl) of Austin, Texas, Edward C. Flickinger (Wendy) of Cary, N.C., and Richard H. Flickinger of Raleigh, N.C.; and her grandchildren, Nathan and Kristin Davies of Mars, Sarah and Sean Wimberley of Raleigh, Jim Flickinger of State College, Emma and Evelyn Flickinger of Cary, L.D. Stacy and Faith Flickinger of Austin and Thomas C. Uram of Butler.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Woloszyk of McCandless Township; and her loving friends, Connie and Bill Sippel, John Wilkinson and Thomas Uram Jr.

Her husband, Paul H. Flickinger, whom she married Oct. 1, 1955, died Dec. 10, 2003. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Bucky Layne.
