YOUTH SPORTS

For the second straight year, the Butler boys junior high track and field team won its own invitational.

The Tornado scored 81 total points at the event, held Friday night. Hempfield came in second place with 76 points.

Following are the Butler athletes who medaled.

Boys3200-meter relay: 1-Butler (Matt Pribis, Cody Hartman, Cody West, Evan Gomez);

110-meter hurdles: 3-Matt Rekich; 5-Matt Pribis;

100-meter dash: 5-Darius Hightower;

1,600-meter run: 3-Evan Gomez;

400-meter dash: 4-Cody Hartman; 6-Carlos Sanchez;

400 meter relay: 2-Butler (Darius Hightower, Jason Glasgow, Jon McAvoy, Jay Swiagart);

800-meter run: 3-Evan Gomez; 4-Matt Pribis;

200-meter dash: 5-Darius Hightower;

1,600-meter relay: 1-Butler (Cole Baxter, Carlos Sanchez, Cody Hartman, Evan Gomez)

Triple jump: 5-Brandon Taylor;

Shot put: 6-Adam Steiner; 7-Mike McPherson;

Pole vault: 1-Jason Glasgow

Kenny Rall's three goals lifted the Prospect Ice to a 3-2 win over the Prospect Predators in youth soccer action.Josh Jones and Dylan Jesteadt scored for the Predators.
