Robert Giffin, 71, of Renfrew died Thursday at his home.

Born Aug. 8, 1935, in Bedford County, he was the son of Russell and Alberta Brown Giffin.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Mr. Giffin enjoyed scrapping, cutting wood and working on tractors.

He had worked at US Steel's Saxonburg Cindering Plant, where he was known as "Gabby," for 18 years.

Surviving are his wife, Judith E. Patrick Giffin, whom he married March 31, 1960; three daughters, Mrs. Jeff (Sandra) Morgan and Sheila Kaltenbach, both of Evans City and Mrs. Donald (Debbie) Hawylrick of Butler; two sons, Robert L. Giffin of Renfrew and Russell P. Giffin of Slippery Rock; an adopted son, Mark Perkins of Renfrew; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He also is survived by a brother, Tom Giffin of Roaring Spring, Blair County.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

<B>GIFFIN</B> — Friends of Robert Giffin, who died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Vern Borchert of the Lighthouse officiating.Burial will be at the Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.
