Robert D. Bartley
Robert D. Bartley, 77, of Park Forest, Ill., formerly of Butler, died Feb. 4 at his home.
A 1946 graduate of Butler High School, he received a degree in journalism from the University of Pittsburgh in 1952 and served in the Army Signal Corps from 1952 to 1954.
Mr. Bartley had worked at Pullman Standard and then worked in sales at the Chilton Corp. in Chicago.
He was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Olympia Fields, Ill.
While living in Butler, he served as publicity director for United Fund drives and was a member of the board of the P.A.R.C.
He was an avid golfer and gardener.
Surviving are his wife, Sallie Haug Bartley; his children, Bruce of Burns, Ore., Doug of Lemont, Ill., Tom of Oak Lawn, Ill., David of Redmond, Ore., Chris of Elmhurst, Ill., and Laura of Birmingham, Ala.; 17 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
