Doris Anderson Scott

Doris T. "Scotty" Anderson Scott, 83, of Slippery Rock, formerly of the North Hills, died Wednesday morning at the Slippery Rock Personal Care Home.

Born in Pittsburgh, June 28, 1923, she was the daughter of Frank J. and Bertha Mench Anderson.

She was a Protestant.

Mrs. Scott was a graduate of Franklin School of Nursing and had done private duty nursing. She also was one of the first women bus drivers for the North Hills School District.

She was a past matron of the Robert Swan Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former president of the Melwood Woman's Club. She also had been a Cub Scout leader for the Melwood Cub Scouts for 12 years and was active in the Farmers Market at the City County Building in Pittsburgh.

Surviving are three sons, Alvin Scott of Irwin, Melvin Scott of Evans City and John W. Ralston Jr. of Albion; a daughter, Mrs. William (Doris) MacVittie of Harmony; a brother, William Anderson of East Liberty, and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Scott, who died in May 1983; a brother, and two sisters.
