Melissa Vaughn, daughter of Robert and Doreen Vaughn of Cranberry Township, has been awarded the John O. Bolvin Scholarship for excellence at the University of Pittsburgh.A2004 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, she was presented the award at the university's annual honors convocation.———

Mallory Smith, daughter of Russell and Beverly Smith of Middlesex Township, has been awarded the Anna Todd Wofford Scholarship at Wofford College.A senor at Mars High School, she is a member of the National Honor Society and the high school's chorus, women's ensemble and chamber ensemble. She has also participated in plays and musicals and serves as a leader in her youth group.———

Molly Evans, daughter of Clinton and Louise Evans of Butler Township, has been named a National Merit Finalist in the 2007 National Merit Scholarship Program.Evans is a senior at Butler High School.———

Lauren Barber of Butler has been accepted into the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine.Barber graduated in 2002 from Butler High School and in 2006 from Westminster College, where she received a bachelor of science degree in biology.She is employed as a graduate assistant in the biology department at Clarion University.
