McQuistion Elementary won the recent Butler Area Sixth Grade Volleyball Tournament, despite being a player short on the court.

Jacob Alston, one of the squad's best players, was injured and could not be replaced.

Coach Chuck Tompkins' team was led by the defense and sets of Alexis Swiergol and Mara Davanzati, the digs and bumps of Chloe Ryder, serve-receiver and set man Alex Russo and standout player Travis Heeter.

McQuistion defeated Center Township, 15-7, in the championship game. The team played nearly four consecutive hours of volleyball and posted a 9-0 record.
