First of all, I went to KC and KC always had good sports teams. Notice I said sports teams, not sportsmanship.

And my daughters both graduated from Moniteau and my son will graduate from Butler.

So having a variety of schools with my children and myself, I have seen many things in my lifetime. I think at one point and time all schools have some who will 'deface' the school so to speak with their unsportsmanlike conduct.

Moniteau unfortunately has always been the underdog and I am always so pleased to hear that they are doing well in sports and I root them on. Same with Karns City...as I was growing up, I was in the wonderful Flames and Flickers (when we had the musical instruments and not the van with the music). We had some great times and I was friends with many of the students from other schools, Moniteau and ACValley. I would love to relive those years and miss seeing all of these people. We had our friendly spats among us but nothing ever got out of hand when it came to sports talk. It was all good natured.

Actually I had more trouble with my KC friends because I was friends with Moniteau students.

I say have fun at your games and enjoy them while you are young. As for the name calling, this is belittling....on both ends....I am not prejudiced and resent anyone who does this.

I do however take offense to something I recently heard and that was if a 'foreigner' comes into our US, they are given monies by our government to start businesses, etc.... someone please correct me if I am wrong. I sure would like the government to give me a few $$$ instead of always taking it away...but that's another subject another day. :)
