Butler County's great daily newspaper

Advise from readers

If anyone cares to comment with some valid advise, I would appreciate it. Awhile back, I babysat a few kids for awhile, off and on. The children attend elementary schools in butler county. i also have children that I took with me when I babysat. Anyway, my kids began breaking out in what looked hives. We went to the doc. The doc said it looks like an allergic reaction to something. Some looked like hives some looked like mosquito bites. My youngest would scratch and scratch and scratch. I took the kids to a doc elsewhere and the kids were diagnosed with scabies. Anyway I freaked and later learned that the kids i babysat had them. these are highly contageous among school kids. the problem was treated and the kids got better except for one thing, my kids are noticing other kids in their class with hives and bites. These kids are saying that the doc says it is an allergic reaction. OOH. I found too that Butler is very common place in schools for this type of thing. I have tried to contact anyone and everyone, because this will only get worse if all are not treated. Teachers could get this no matter how clean you are. It is not about clean or dirty. It is about contageous. Kids spread germs faster than a speed of lightening. My family is a bit upset. I have contacted the health department and was told that it is not against the law and people do not have to get treatment. When i made phone calls and tried to alert people, it was like talking to a wall. Any advise and no I do not babysit anymore.
