Karl Barnhart, 69, of Harmony died Friday.

Born Feb. 12, 1937, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Helen Stoughton Barnhart.

He was a founding member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Fombell, where he was head usher, coordinated many church projects, and was a mentor to many people. He had also been an active member of the First Baptist Church in Evans City.

Mr. Barnhart was a servant who got his joy from helping others. He devoted his life to sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, and he was a hero to many people.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Palmer Barnhart; two daughters, Amy Barkley of Zelienople, and Joy Sutton of Butler; a son, Brandon Barnhart of Harmony; three brothers, Harold "Eugene" Barnhart of Portersville, Walter Barnhart of Freedom, and Larry Barnhart of Zelienople; five sisters, Evelyn Semel of Zelienople, Audrey Altemus of Harrisville, Jacklyn Nickita and Dixie Leonard, both of Florida, and Virginia Mang of Colorado.

He also is survived by eight grandchildren, Nathan, Logan, Caitlyn, Trevor, Brooke, Cade, Daryn, and Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dolly Kniess, and a brother, Gary Barnhart.

<B>BARNHART</B> — Friends of Karl Barnhart, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, with the Rev. Wayne Wheeler, pastor of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and the Rev. Jeff MacKay, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the church.
