Sunday — Two people were arrested for driving under the influence during a roving DUI patrol on Super Bowl Sunday as part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's "Over the Limit Under Arrest" enforcement campaign.The county's DUI Task Force conducted the operation that focused on DUI drivers, aggressive driving and seat belt violations.Officers stopped 28 vehicles and, along with the DUI arrests, four traffic citations were issued. One person was arrested on a drug charge and 26 traffic warnings were issued, including four for seat belt violations.

9:15 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Butler girl struck the rear of a sport utility vehicle on Route 8 near Muddy Creek Drive in Clay Township. The girl, who police did not identify, suffered a minor head injury.Gregory Milkovich, 49, of Butler, who was driving the SUV, suffered minor neck and back injuries.8:30 a. m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Larry Macri, 46, of New Castle skidded on ice-covered Route 108 nearWest Park Road in Worth Township, hit an embankment and rolled onto its side.6 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Daniel Cook, 52, of Harmony skidded off Interstate 79 in Jackson Township and hit an embankment.9:10 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Chelsea Peck, 20, of Zelienople slid on ice-covered Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township and struck the rear of an SUV driven by Stephen Carman, 52, of Meadville, Crawford County. Police noted Carman was stopped in his vehicle because of an earlier crash that blocked both northbound lanes.8:26 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven byJames Brown, 80, of Bruin crashed on Route 38 in Concord Township.11:40 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Thomas Shute, 19, of Butler slid on an ice patch, hitting an embankment and guardrail on South Benbrook Road in Center Township.

6:25 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Russell Baker, 35, of Parker skidded on Route 28 just south of the Buffalo Bridge in Buffalo Township, Butler County, and hit a set of guardrails. Police said the pickup traveled about 85 feet on top of the guardrails before it stopped. Baker was cited for driving too fast for conditions.8 a.m. Tuesday — A 60-year-old man was injured when he was hit by a mini-van at Route 128 and Saddle Club Road near his home in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County.Police said Samuel Black failed to yield the right of way as he crossed the road and was struck by a Chrysler Voyager driven by Deborah Johnson, 56, of Kittanning. Black was treated for minor injuries at ACMH Hospital in Kittanning and released.
