8:44 p.m. Saturday — Robin Roxberry, 44, of Penn Township was arrested for driving under the influence on Hansen Avenue. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license and a lighting violation. Timothy Claypool, 18, of Butler, a passenger, was cited for underage drinking.3:30 p.m. Saturday — Jesse Richard Smith, 25, was arrested for allegedly threatening his mother with a kitchen knife at their North Main Street apartment.Linda Smith, 49, told police that her son had stopped taking his medications and was using heroin. She said the defendant "held a knife to her and told her to leave before she gets hurt,"a police report said.The woman went to the police station and reported the assault. Officers found Jesse Smith at the apartment, along with drug paraphernalia including a syringe and 10 empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.Police said Smith, who was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital, is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.Saturday — Police reported that Robert Brophy, 28, of Butler was charged with drunken driving and other traffic violations stemming from a Dec. 28 crash that sheared off a utility pole along Pillow Street.In addition to driving under the influence, Brophy was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended property and driving without a license.3:11 p.m. Wednesday — No charges were filed in a school bus accident on New Castle Street near Fourth Avenue.Ethan Brady, 15, of Butler suffered only minor injuries when he was struck by the Valley Lines. Inc. bus driven by Robert Neal, 58, of West Sunbury.The police investigation determined the teen walked in front of the bus, carrying 34 passengers, as the vehicle was pulling away from a traffic light. Awitness told police that there was no time for the bus driver to stop.

2:50 a.m. Sunday — Jeffery Tait, 30, of Cabot was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his sport utility vehicle struck a gas meter along Cooper Road near Route 356 in Jefferson Township.2:30 a.m. Sunday — A19-year-old Florida man was arrested for having a stolen gun in his vehicle following a traffic stop on Winfield Road in Winfield Township. Joshua Lamberto, 19, of Jacksonville, Fla., also was charged with drunken driving.District Judge Pete Shaffer arraigned Lamberto on charges of receiving stolen property and DUI, and remanded him to the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bond.1:40 a.m. Sunday — An SUV driven by Angela Strauser, 29, of Parker crashed and overturned on Route 38 at Stone Church Road in Allegheny Township.Sunday — David Turocy of Prospect reported that someone fired three shots at a window at his Main Street business in Prospect. The vandalism occurred between 9:30 a.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. Sunday.Sunday — Police reported that Sabian brand cymbals were stolen between Nov. 13 and Dec. 1 from the band storage room at Slippery Rock High School in Slippery Rock Township.Saturday — Two would-be thieves failed in their bid between 10 and 11:30 p.m. to steal a pickup truck from the garage at the Star Grill Road home of Daniel Markle in Winfield Township.Saturday — Leeann Cramer told police that her cell phone was stolen between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. from the changing room at ATA Taekwondo on Sunset Drive in Center Township.Saturday — A 25-pound bag of dog food and a wine corkscrew were stolen between 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday in a burglary at the Christy Road home of Randy Slobogian in Clinton Township.Saturday — Several compact discs, sunglasses and a set of keys were stolen between 1:45 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday from a car parked on North River Avenue in Parker, Armstrong County. Cindy Irwin of Parker owns the stolen property.7 p.m. Thursday — Shane Kramer, 26, of Grove City and Georgina Meyer, 30, of Slippery Rock are accused of stealing 16 DVDs and a pair of PlayStation 2 games from the Riviera Court home of Tammy Henry in Connoquenessing Township. The stolen property is valued at $515. Kramer and Meyer are charged with theft and conspiracy.

Sunday — About $900 and a lap top computer were stolen between 8 p.m. Saturday and 6:45 a.m. Sunday in a burglary at the Main Street Diner in Rimersburg.The unknown burglar broke the window of a front door to get inside the business. The building sustained $150 in damage. Police noted the computer is valued at $1,200.
