Scott R. Dickinson Sr.

Scott R. Dickinson Sr., 92, of Cranberry Township died Wednesday at the Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community, Cranberry Township.

Born Aug. 9, 1914, in Collingswood, N.J., he was the son of Benjamin F. and Patti E. Redman Dickinson.

He was a graduate of the Carnegie Institute of Technology.

He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 as a second lieutenant in the North African Campaign. He then was a major in the Office of Strategic Service (OSS) behind enemy lines in Yugoslavia and received the Bronze Star for valor. He retired from the military as a lieutenant colonel.

Mr. Dickinson had been chief engineer at the Superior Valve Co. and vice president of engineering at Kerotest Manufacturing Co.

Following his retirement, he was a volunteer for 20 years with Meals on Wheels and for the Sherwood Oaks Resident Association Board, where he served two terms as president.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Jane Totten Dickinson; a son, Scott R. (Janet) Dickinson Jr. of Sandia, Texas; a daughter, Diane Selvaggio of Gibsonia; four grandchildren, Jeremiah (Brenda) Houck, Shayna and Ethan Houck and Aliza Selvaggio, and four great-grandchildren.

<B>DICKINSON</B> — A memorial service for Scott R. Dickinson Sr., who died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sherwood Oaks Retirement Community Auditorium, 100 Norman Drive, Cranberry Township. The Rev. Kenneth Rippin and the Rev.
