Dr. J. Wilson Mausteller

Dr. J. Wilson Mausteller, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday.

Dr. Maus-teller, born in 1922, graduated with a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1944 and married Rose Ella Strickland in June of that year.

After working for duPont for three years, he earned a Ph.D in Chemistry at Penn State in 1950, and then joined Callery Chemical Company, working on government programs in liquid metal technology, life support and chemical agent protection. He holds nine patents and has written technical papers and book chapters. He retired in 1994 as General Manager of MSA Research Corp.

Active in church work, Dr. Mausteller served variously as Sunday school teacher through Council President and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evans City, at the time of his death. He was especially interested in writing for church and Cursillo publications, served on Cursillo for 25 years, and served on other charitable boards.

A life-long interest in music included band, orchestra and choral work — he was choral director for several churches and groups. Other interests were golf, racquetball, photography, walking, flea marketing, writing and reading.

Dr. Mausteller was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kit Meckly, formerly of Mars.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Ella; four children, Barbara Pyle of Wilmington, Del., Jeff Mausteller of Evans City, Lisa Thong of Beijing, China, and Linda Edenfield of Charlottesville, VA; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

<B>MAUSTELLER</B> — A memorial service for Dr. J. Wilson Mausteller, who died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, will take place at 11 a.m. Monday St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evans City, with a reception following in the church hall.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 202 Van Buren St., Evans City, PA 16033.Arrangements entrusted to <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, Evans City; and online condolences may be submitted at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
