Beth A. Grawburg
Beth Ann Weigel Grawburg, 48, of Mount Pleasant, Mich., formerly of Zelienople, died Monday at her home after a courageous breast cancer battle.
Born Jan. 8, 1958, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Fred and Marian Johnston Weigel.
She was a 1976 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and attended Grove City College, where she received a bachelor's degree in communications arts and was a member of the Sigma Theta Chi sorority.
Mrs. Grawburg was a member of the Mount Pleasant First United Methodist Church and frequently attended the Mount Pleasant Community Church.
Active in the Mount Pleasant community, she was a guest speaker for Community Cancer Services and Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. She also was the motivational speaker for West Intermediate School's Miles for Miracles cancer fundraiser.
She was a trustee at First United Methodist and served on the Mount Pleasant High School Improvement Committee. She had been an executive director for the Downtown Business Association of Mount Pleasant and, with her husband, operated Recognition Resource from their home for the past 10 years.
She previously had worked at IBM and Xerox in Tampa, Fla., and at the University of Tampa's Office of Institutional Advancement, where she was director of university relations.
She was most proud of being a mom and loved music and singing, sun and sand, sports, her photo collection and spending time with family and friends and her dog, Webster.
Surviving are her husband, Larry Grawburg, whom she married Dec. 9, 1988, in Tampa; daughters Leah and Lauren, both at home; her parents, of Palm Harbor, Fla.; a brother, Ron (Linda) Weigel of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Lela Grawburg of Burton, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Cindy Duff of Davison. Mich.; and nieces and nephews, Steve Weigel, Melissa Weigel, Christine Celis and Joey Sheroski.
<B>GRAWBURG </B>— A memorial service for Beth Ann Grawburg, who died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, was held today at the First Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant, Mich., with the Rev. John Boley, the Rev.
