Ida K. Stirland Ammon

Ida K. Stirland Ammon, 80, formerly of Brown Avenue, died at 2 a.m. Monday at the Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.

Born Nov. 3, 1926, in New Kensington, she was the daughter of Ernest Stirland and Annie Wheatcroft.

Mrs. Ammon retired as a seamstress at the Duquesne Manufacturing Co. in New Kensington after 12 years.

She was a member of the Church of God of Lower Burrell. When she moved to Butler, she was a member of the North Main Street Church of God.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Virginia) Ammon of Butler and Mrs. Cathy D. Johnston of Tamaqua, Schuylkill County; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchild. She also is survived by a brother, Ronald Stirland of Lower Burrell.

Her husband, Charles F. Ammon, died May 26, 2001. Three brothers also preceded her in death.

<B>AMMON</B> — Friends of Ida K. Stirland Ammon, who died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Hall, pastor of the of North Main Street Church of God, officiating.
