Hazel M. Burns

Hazel M. Burns, 93, of Chicora died at 8:16 a.m. Saturday at the Chicora Medical Center after an illness.

Born in Donegal Township, April 17, 1913, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mary Jane Emminger Houten.

Mrs. Burns was a homemaker.

She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society and the Christian Mothers of the Church.

Surviving are five daughters, Louise Craig, Susan Miller, Mrs. John (Donna) Callihan and Mrs. Thomas (Shirley) Callihan, all of Chicora, and Mrs. Gerald (Geraldine) Foley of Butler; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three daughters, a son, a great-grandson and a brother.

<B>BURNS </B>— A Mass of Christian burial for Hazel M. Burns, who died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006, was celebrated today at the Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic with the Rev. David DeWitt officiating. Burial was at the Hemphill Cemetery Chicora.Arrangements were handled by the <B>Steighner Funeral Home</B>, Chicora.
