John Hornyak

John Hornyak, 85, of Middlesex Township, formerly of Bridgeville, died on Friday.

Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Adam and Mary Onufrak Hornyak.

He was a retired local union millwright.

Mr. Hornyak was a member of the Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Church, Carnegie.

He was a World War II Army veteran and served in the Central Europe Campaign. His received the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 1 Bronze Star.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Boyuka Hornyak; two sons, S. Thomas (Carol) Hornyak of Middlesex Township and John (Andrea) Hornyak of Oakton, Va.; a sister, Mary Morelli of Greentree; three grandchildren, Adam, Alex and Eli Hornyak; and great-grandchildren, Amelia and Brook Hornyak.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Julia Kremen and Margaret Oschlager.

<B>HORNYAK </B>— Friends of John Hornyak, who died Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, will received from 2 to 4 and 6 from 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Herbert R. King, Jr. Funeral Home</B>, Route 8 at 2841 Woodland Circle, Hampton Township.A parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Burial will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Virgin Russian Orthodox Church, 214 Mansfield Blvd. Carnegie, PA 15106.Information also is available at www.kingfuneralhome.com.
