Lehew 50th anniversary
John Jr. and Betty Lehew of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage recently with family gatherings in St. Andrews, Scotland and Grosse Pointe Park, Mich. The couple also celebrated with a Caribbean cruise.
The former Betty Shaulis married Lehew Dec. 8, 1956, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City.
They have three children, S. Jan Squitieri and Tamara Whitty, both of Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., and John Lehew III of Thurso, Scotland.
They also have two grandchildren.
Lehew retired in 1989 after working as a teacher and assistant football coach in both the Freeport and Butler school districts.

The couple belongs to First English Lutheran Church in Butler.
The couple enjoys traveling, hiking, kayaking, skiing and photographing lighthouses.
