Ruth M. Hays, 87, of Renfrew, died Thursday, at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars.

Born July 24, 1919, in Adams Township, she was the daughter of Clarence and Mamie Miller Hartung.

Mrs. Hays was a member of Renfrew Methodist Church and had been active in church affairs. She enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting and being a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Harry L. Hays of Renfrew; two sisters, Mildred Drescher of Rochester and Rachael Hall of Pittsburgh; and a brother, the Rev. Stanley Hartung of Williamsport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland S. Hays, and two sisters, Viola Kozakovsky and Edna Stenzel.
