ALYSSA DEAL (Moniteau) placed 11th overall to help the Jacksonville (Fla.) University women's cross country team finish fifth at the recent Atlantic Sun Conference Championship at Boiling Springs, N.C. She was the Dolphins' top finisher with a time of 19 minutes, 34 seconds to earn a place on the all-freshman team.•

CARA PIERCE (Grove City College) was selected a Scholar-Athlete of the Month for October by the Presidents' Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The cross country senior carries a 3.95 grade point average with a double major of Spanish and English.•

MIKES TIMAC (Karns City) was selected a Scholar-Athlete of the Month for October by the Presidents' Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The junior linebacker at Thiel College has a 4.0 GPA while majoring in English with a minor in secondary education. He is the Tomcats' third-leading tackler (56) this season.
