Rev. Carole Pentz

Pentz

The Rev. Carole K. Pentz, 73, of the Whitehall Church of God Campground in Emlenton died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at her home of natural causes.

Born July 5, 1933, in Punxsutawney, she was the daughter of Keith and Alta Snyder Kuntz.

She graduated in 1954 from Anderson College, Anderson, Ind., with a bachelor of divinity degree; and she was ordained into the Church of God ministry at Whitehall in 1962.

While at Anderson, she and her husband were associate pastors of the Cloverdale Church of God.

Rev. Pentz pastored at Sipesville Church of God in Somerset County and had served as interim pastor at the First Church of God in Oil City and the former Parker Church of God.

Following 26 years of pastoral ministry, they entered full-time missionary callings in South Dakota, Guatemala and other parts of Central and South America.

After the death of her husband, she later made two missionary excursions to Kenya, where she shared the pastoral work of the Say Kenya church mission with Belliah Matenda. In recent years, she hosted Belliah at the Whitehall residence, where they shared the news of Belliah's work with Churches of God in Western Pennsylvania.

In addition to all her church and missionary work, she found the time to be a loving and caring mother of three sons and authored three novels of poetry and prose.
