Well the big day has finally come. On Thursday October 5th the emporer Joe Stewart will appear on his grand balcony to annonce his decision. Guess what ? He has decided to build anew hospital on a greenfield site and al of his peons be damned. Just as the County Commissioners were told last week;Butler cannot afford to OVER DO things like extra ice rinks. We can't afford to over spend to satisfy the egos of Stewart and his bobble-head board.One consistent message I read all the time is that people love the existing hospital and see no reason to change it. Now that would be unrealistic. BMH just went toe-to toe with Highmark and forced them to pay higher rates to BMH. Guess who has the honor of paying Highmark Blue Cross every extra dollar that they are paying to Stewart. That is right you and me. Our rates are going up to pay for Mr. Stewarts hospital and he hasn't even made his announcement yet. I and my family use BMH. We have always had good care there. I understand business and I also understand serving the community. This new Tower of Stewart will hurt this community for years to come and this board and it's Fuhrer will be enjoying Hilton Head.
