Baptiste 50th anniversary
Lawrence and Christine Baptiste of West Sunbury will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a Mass to be celebrated by their son, the Rev. Charles Baptiste, at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church in West Sunbury. Adinner reception will follow at 6 p.m. at North Washington Social Hall.
The former Christine Pry married Baptiste Sept. 15, 1956, at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
They have seven children, The Rev. Charles Baptiste of Monroeville; Lawrence Baptiste of Slippery Rock; Paul Baptiste and Lillian Baptiste, both of Butler; Mary Loos of Eau Claire; Robert Baptiste of West Sunbury; and Christine Hahn of Tyrone, Ga.They also have 17 grandchildren.Baptiste is retired from Armco.Mrs. Baptiste is a homemaker.The couple belongs to St. Louis Church in West Sunbury.
