Edward and Carole Demmy of Butler celebrated 40 years of marriage recently.

The former Carole Johnson married Demmy on May 7, 1966, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

They have two children, Lisa Bellamy of Longs, S.C., and Erin Boyd of Naples, Fla.

They also have four grandchildren.

Demmy is retired from the Butler School District, where he taught Spanish.

Mrs. Demmy is retired from Butler County Community College, where she worked as director of the Cranberry Center.

The couple enjoys traveling to their home in North Carolina, gardening and Sprint cars. They belong to First English Lutheran Church in Butler.
