10:29 p.m. Saturday — Melissa Ford, 38, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after her car struck a gas pump at the Butler Amoco/Cigarette Shop on West Jefferson Street. Police said Ford drove off after the crash.Police a short time later found Ford at her home. She was taken to the police station and given an intoxilyzer test which showed her blood-alcohol count at 0.297 percent. A BACof 0.08 is considered intoxicated under state law. In addition to DUI, she was cited for accidents involving damage to unattended property.11:33 a.m. Saturday — A thief allegedly stole a woman's purse at the Associated Artists of Butler County on South Main Street. The unknown suspect is described as a white man in his 20s, between 5 feet, 9 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with dirty blonde hair. He was wearing a yellow bandanna, a gray cutoff shirt and white pants.

10:47 a.m. Sunday — An 8-year-old Slippery Rock boy was injured when his bike collided with a car at Muddy Creek Drive and West Liberty Road in Brady Township.Police said the boy failed to stop at a stop sign and traveled into the intersection, where a car driven by Judith Hoover, 65, of Slippery Rock hit the bike. The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown into a grassy median.The child suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment. Police noted the boy's parent, who was not identified, was cited for allowing the child to ride a bike without a required safety helmet.8:20 a.m. Sunday — A pickup truck driven by Leslie Hahn, 54, of Sarver struck an embankment and rolled onto its side on Bonniebrook Road in Jefferson Township. Hahn was cited for driving too fast for conditions.4:33 a.m. Sunday — Brian L. Williams, 26, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence on Route 173 in Slippery Rock Township.Sunday — A purple, two-door Saturn passenger car was stolen between 11 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday from a Chicora Road home in Fairview Township. Christopher Price of Chicora owns the car.11:30 p.m. Saturday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Levon Bryan, 21, of Kittanning crashed on Winfield Road in Winfield Township. Police said Bryan had driven off before troopers got to the crash site.Bryan and Joshua Czekanski, 21, of Ford City, a passenger, both suffered minor injuries. Police said Bryan faces hit-and-run-related charges in the crash.5:51 p.m. Saturday — Cars driven by Ralph Calvin, 61, of Yukon, Westmoreland County, and Patricia Morrison, 63, of Edinboro, Erie County, collided on Route 356 in Jefferson Township. Apassenger in Calvin's car, Maria Calvin, 57, of Yukon, suffered minor injuries. Ralph Calvin was cited for illegal entering or crossing a road.2:10 p.m. Saturday — No injuries were reported in a five-vehicle crash on Route 38 in Oakland Township.The crash occurred when a pickup truck driven by Ernest Buck, 72, of Petrolia struck the rear of a car driven by Aimee Forsha, 24, of Hilliards. The collision forced the car into three parked vehicles. Buck was cited for driving too fast for conditions.1:07 a.m. Saturday — Frank Giordano Jr., 48, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and several summary violations following a traffic stop on Route 228 in Buffalo Township.Saturday — Tools valued at more than $3,500 were stolen from a barn between July 25 and Saturday in a burglary at a Boozel Road home in Slippery Rock Township. Jeanne Potter of Slippery Rock and Gerald Kaltenbach of Butler own the stolen property.10:45 p.m. Friday — A van driven by Ann Unger, 44, of Hilliards was traveling on Route 38 in Concord Township when it rolled onto its side. She was wearing a seat belt and was not injured. State police were assisted by the North Washington Volunteer Fire Department.2:15 p.m. Friday — State police found a Yamaha golf cart in a field along Cupps Road in Connoquenessing Township. Anyone with information about the cart should call police at 724-284-8100.9:14 a.m. Friday — Acar driven by Samuel Kinney, 70, of Portersville struck a trailer being pulled by a truck on Route 422 at the Interstate 79 on-ramp in Muddy Creek Township.Kinney was flown by medical helicopter with unknown injuries to Allegheny General Hospital; his condition was not known this morning. Timothy Evans, 50, of Hickory, N.C., was driving the truck.Friday — Ashley Hiles, 18, and a 16-year-old girl, both of Kittanning, were charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property. They are accused of stealing a total of $649 worth of merchandise from four stores in the Clearview Mall, Deb Shop Store, Boscov's Department Store, Bath and Body Works, and American Eagle Outfitters, between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Two of the stores, American Eagle and Bath and Body Works declined to prosecute.3:45 p.m. Friday — A Butler juvenile was charged with retail theft. The juvenile is accused of stealing a $50 pair of women's shoes from TJ Maxx in the Clearview Mall in Center Township.Friday — Robert Rodgers, 68, of Butler reported the theft of his wallet from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked at his residence at 1019 Matson Ave. in East Butler between 7:30 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday. No money was reported missing.Thursday — Richard A. Rider, 48, of Boyers reported the theft of a McCullough 12-inch chainsaw and a key for a Honda Rancher 4-by-4 worth a total of $60 from a barn at his residence at 458 Harrisville Road between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 5 p.m. Thursday. Police are investigating.10:10 a.m. Wednesday — A truck driven by John Bente, 50, of Cranberry Township and an SUV driven by Arthur Miller, 66, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 68 and Old Route 68 in Forward Township. Miller complained of minor injuries but refused treatment. Bente and Miller's passenger, Ethel Miller, 71, were not injured. All three people were wearing seat belts. Police were assisted by the Evans City Volunteer Fire Department and Butler EMS. Bente was cited for a traffic violation.
