Beatrice "Maxine" Christie, of Stuart, Fla., and Pittsburgh, died Thursday.

She was the daughter of the late Lyal F. and Beatrice McCarl of Butler.

A receptionist and an administrative assistant, she had worked at Bell Telephone and St. Claire Hospital and retired from DDI in Pittsburgh. She also was an avid antique dealer.

Mrs. Christie was president of the South Hills Women's Club in Pittsburgh from 1968 through 1969. She also volunteered at the Humane Society.

Her husband, Paul W. Christie, died May 14, 2004.

She is survived by a son, Marc W. Christie and his wife, Michele, of Okeechobee, Fla.; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jeanne and Howard Carlin of Byesville, Ohio, Joan and Steve Pasch of Las Vegas, and Carol McCarl of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
