Gordon's winning move is booed

Jeff Gordon gave Matt Kenseth a little Dale Earnhardt, Sr. touch and went on to win the USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland Sunday afternoon.

When Earnhardt pulled the stunt in his prime, the fans cheered him. Gordon, however, was pelted with bottles and debris after he knocked Kenseth out of contention with four laps remaining in the race.

Jeff Burton recorded his best finish of the season, placing second. Following Burton across the finish line was Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

With the win, Gordon jumped into the 10th spot in the points chase. Jimmie Johnson continues to lead the standings, just 48 points ahead of Kenseth.

The Nextel Cup Series heads to the New Hampshire Speedway for the running of the Lenox Industrial Tools 300.

The Action Track has scheduled a regular Fab 4 program Friday night, featuring a special Modified Tour '06 40-lap race with the winner picking up $2,000.The biggest race of the season is on tap Tuesday, as the World of Outlaws Sprint cars invade Lernerville for the running of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup XV. The winner will pocket $30,000.Donny Schatz currently leads the Outlaws points standings. Joe Saldana is second. followed by Craig Dollansky, Jac Haudenschild and Brook Tatnell.Gates open at 5 p.m., time trials will take place at 7:15 with the green flag falling at 8.

The newly formed National Sprint Tour is set to compete at Tri-City Sunday evening. Heading the list of drivers is 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser. Other drivers slated to attend include Tim Kaeding, Kraig Kinser, Danny Lasoski, Paul McMahon, Jason Meyers and Dean Jacobs, who took over Tim Shaffer's ride following Shaffer's accident that resulted in a broken vertebrae.Area drivers expected to run for the $10,000 top prize include Ed Lynch Jr., Jarod Larson, Rod George and Bob Felmlee.Gates open at 4 p.m., racing begins at 6.

• York, Pa., native Rick Eckert drove into town like an outlaw on a mission and rode away with a pocketful of money. Eckert won the World of Outlaws Late Model feature at Sharon Speedway Saturday night, then followed that up by capturing the Penn National 40 at Pittsburgh's Pa. Motor Speedway Sunday.• Ben Miley, one of the nicest guys on the Late Model tour, finally found victory lane this season. He won the feature at Pittsburgh's Pa. Motor Speedway Saturday. It was his 53rd career win at the track.• Dale Blaney garnered enough points to win the Ohio Sprint Speedweek title. Blaney won features at Muskingum and Eldora in the week-long competition.
