Gladys and Alfred McCormick

Alfred and Gladys McCormick of Meridian celebrated 70 years of marriage recently with a luncheon for family and friends at The Atrium in Prospect.

The former Gladys Whitmire married McCormick on June 6, 1935, at the Church of God in Kingwood.

They have a daughter, Joyce Temple of Butler. Ason, Ronald McCormick, is deceased.

They also have five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The couple retired from McCormick's Market in Brownsdale after 40 years.McCormick was also employed at the Franklin Glass Plant in Renfrew.Mrs. McCormick is a former employee of Butler Memorial Hospital, in the dietary department.The couple belongs to Christ Community United Methodist Church in Butler Township.
