Damian Herbert, son of Damian Herbert of Pittsburgh and Marie Brandon and stepfather James Brandon of Sarver, has been inducted into the National Society of High School Scholars.He will be a junior this fall at Knoch High School. Sara Naylor, a graduate of Mars High School, was recently named a 2006 Gilder Lehrman History Scholar Finalist.Ajunior at the University of Charleston, she is one of 45 undergraduate students selected from more than 300 applicants.Finalists participated in a one-week program in New York City that aims to foster an interest in American history.———
<B>Julienne Beblo</B>, a junior at Knoch High School, took a silver award for a flowered ceramic bowl in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She received her medal in New York City June 9. The daughter of Brian and Karen Beblo of Cabot, she created the bowl under the direction of private art teacher Murley Kight.
