Wigton 50th anniversary
James and Joyce Wigton of Center Township celebrated 50 years of marriage with a surprise family dinner at the Saxonburg Hotel.
The former Joyce Smith married Wigton on June 9, 1956, at First United Methodist Church in Butler.
They have two children, Richard Wigton of Middletown and Timothy Wigton of Butler. They also have two grandchildren.
Wigton is retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, where he worked as the deputy superintendent at the State Correctional Institution at Pittsburgh. After retiring, he worked part time at the Irene Stacy Mental Health Center for 10 years. He also volunteered as a Wildlife Conservation Officer for 20 years.
Mrs. Wigton worked in the office of Sears, Roebuck for 30 years. She is a former member and past president of the Intermediate League of Butler. She is also a member of the Butler Health and Fitness Club.
