The Smiths in 1956

Abraham and Dolores Smith of West Sunbury will celebrate 50 years of marriage Friday. Aprivate family dinner and a Mass at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church are planned.

The former Dolores Schmoll married Smith on June 16, 1956, at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

They have two children, Laura Halstead of Butler and Daniel Smith of West Sunbury.They also have a grandson at home.Smith retired from the Local 323 Labor Union in 1994 after 52 years. He enjoys constructing oak swings and working at his camp in Warren County.Mrs. Smith is a self-employed seamstress who continues to make boat covers.The couple enjoys fishing and hunting and spending time at their camp.
