George Milton Nye
George Milton Nye, 55, of Portersville died Wednesday morning at his home after a short illness.
Born Dec. 23, 1950, in Ellwood City, he was the son of Helen Everett Nye and the late Neil Nye.
He had worked at Pullman Standard and then worked at the 422 Auto Sales for years.
Mr. Nye enjoyed shooting pool and belonged to many pool leagues. He also collected Lionel trains and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Kelley Nye, whom he married Nov. 28, 1970; his mother of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Portersville; a daughter, Marie Stefko of Harrisville; a son, Christopher Nye of Worth Township; and five grandchildren, Casey and Cody of Harrisville and Stephanie, Tiffany, and Brittany, all of Portersville.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sid (Jan) Arnold of East Brady and Mrs. Virgil (Loretta) Ouim of Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Neil Nye Jr. of Gibsonia and Nathan Nye of Portersville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, George Jr.; an infant son; and a sister, Mary Nye Lutz.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis, pastor of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, officiating.
