Frederick R. Frohnerath Jr.
Frederick R. Frohnerath Jr., 87, of Valencia, formerly of Leesburg, Fla., died Saturday afternoon at the Arbors of Valencia Woods.
Born in Pittsburgh, April 19, 1919, he was the son of Frederick and Molly Kime Frohnerath Sr.
He was a buyer for H.J. Heinz in Pittsburgh for 45 years.
Mr. Frohnerath was a member of the Mars United Methodist Church.
He had been the chairman of the Institute of Sanitation Management in the 1960s, was instrumental in founding the Pittsburgh chapter and was the president elect of the national association at that time.
He was vice chairman of the Mars Area Joint School Building Authority, which was in charge of the building of the Mars High School and the Mars Middle School. He was a former president of the Mars PTA. and had been a Little League coach.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
His wife, Ruth E. Jones Frohnerath, whom he married Dec. 29, 1936, died July 4, 2005.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. B.J. (Cindy) Gormley of Squirrel Hill; a son, Rick A. Frohnerath (Deborah) of Largo, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Erica Ottmann (Jeff), Richard Frohnerath and Matt and Jessica Gormley.
<B>FROHNERATH </B>— A memorial service for Frederick R. Frohnerath Jr., who died Saturday, May 6, 2006, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bellefield Presbyterian Church, 4001 Fifth Ave. Oakland. The Rev. Ken Wagoner will officiate.
