Abigail Lubanovic of Chicora, sang "Mr. Cellophane" from Chicago and "Story Book" from The Scarlet Pimpernel during the recent Thiel Players Cabaret: A Broadway Review. She also performed with an ensemble.Lubanovic is a junior accounting and business administration major at Thiel. She is a 2003 graduate of Karns City High School, and is the daughter of Steven Lubanovic and Sandra Schwab, both of Chicora.———Two county students from St. Joseph High School recently received commendation at History Day at Heinz History Center.
Brianna Sullivan, a junior, of Butler was a member of the second place team in the Senior Group Performance category at the regional competition March 25.Her team's project, "Under the Whip," will represent the school at the state competition at Penn State on May 10 and 11.
James Eich, a junior, of Cabot was a member of the team wining the Eugene Levy Award for Best Local History for its project "Taking a Stand Against Black Stereotypes: Teenie Harris, The Pittsburgh Courier and Robert Lee Vann."———
Justin Dandoy, son of Robert and Julie Dandoy of Butler, was recently named the Greek Leader of Distinction at Clarion University.A sophomore arts and sciences major, he is a graduate of Butler High School.———
Maximillian Essig, a student at Northwest Elementary School, has been accepted to the People to People World Leadership Forum for 2006.As part of the program, Essig will visit Washington, D.C., from April 17 to 23, earning high school credit while visiting several monuments and institutions.
