Erin Ward of Butler and Michael Witman of Leesport were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Aug. 6 at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Parish in Meridian. The Rev. Edward Volz officiated. A reception followed at the Butler Days Inn.

The bride is the daughter of Stephen and Karen Ward of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Russell and Mary Jane Witman of Leesport.

The maid of honor was Tara Washko of Pittsburgh. Bridesmaids included Michele Sullenger of Vienna, Va.; Tricia Colbert of Beaver Falls; and Anne Sellner of Clarion.

Performing the duties of best man was Russell Witman of Leesport. Ushers included Kevin Witman and Shawn Witman, both of Leesport; Michael Byrnes of Fairfax, Va.; and Greg Schunecht of Charleston, S.C. The ring bearer was Connor Witman of Leesport.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Butler High School and a 2001 graduate of Geneva College. She works as a third grade teacher in the Carlisle School District.

The bridegroom graduated in 1992 from Schuylkill Valley High School and in 1996 from Wesley College. He works as a high school physical education and health teacher in the Millersburg School District.

Following a honeymoon trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the couple is making their home in Harrisburg.
