McKain, Russell

Kara McKain of Havelock, N.C., and Michael Russell of Goldsboro, N.C., exchanged wedding vows at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at Hancock Lodge at the Marine Corps Air Station in Cherry Point, N.C. Magistrate Cedric Hargett officiated. The newlyweds greeted guests during a reception at Hancock Lodge.

The bride is the daughter of William and Susan McKain of Havelock and the granddaughter of Gloria McKain of Butler. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Aubrey and Bea Russell of Kodak, Tenn.

The honor attendant was Kristina Glass of Cherry Hill, N.J. Bridesmaids were Kirsten Manges of Mount Joy and Brandee Freeman of Goldsboro.

Serving the bridegroom as best man was the bride's brother, William McKain Jr. of Havelock. Ushers were Mark Cobb of Fayetteville, N.C., and Pedro Rosario of San Antonio.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Havelock High School and is a student at Mount Olive College. She works for the North Carolina State Cooperative Extension in Goldsboro.

The bridegroom is a 1990 graduate of Heritage High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of Texas. He is a master sergeant in the Air Force, stationed at Seymore Johnson Air Force Base.

The couple is making their home in Goldsboro after a honeymoon cruise to the Bahamas.
