YOUTH IN BRIEF

The Butler Eagle sports department is seeking reader input for its weekly youth sports page, which will consist of subject matter pertaining to all youth sports.

Two Butler girls, Brianna DeAngelo and Olivia Vasey, are members of the Pittsburgh Power 14-and-under fast-pitch softball team that placed second in the Valley Extreme Tournament recently in Cortland, Ohio.Other girls on the team are Olivia Bovalina, Chelsea Costello, Lauren Clifford, Julia Floreak, Alisha Johns, Sara Mantick, Liz McPeek, Carly Mundie, Elizabeth Shiring and Deanna Tritinger.

Registration for Seneca Valley Middle School lacrosse takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 26 and 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at the Cranberry Municipal Center.Call 724-772-8937 for details.

South Butler will face Center Township in the Butler Area Midget Football League championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Park.South Butler edged East Butler and Center Township defeated Penn Street in the semifinals last weekend.A sixth-grade all-star game will precede the league title game at 5:30 p.m.

Butler is having tryouts for its fourth, fifth and sixth grade traveling basketball teams from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Butler Intermediate gym.Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. All boys in the Butler Area School District are eligible.
