Hank Baskett, New Mexico, caught 10 passes for 209 yards and a career-best three touchdowns in a 45-35 victory over Missouri.

Robert Jordan, California, caught 11 passes for 192 yards and three scores as the No. 16 Bears defeated Washington 56-17.

Reggie Ball and Damarius Bilbo, Georgia Tech. Ball threw for a career-high 320 yards, including 131 to Bilbo, as the 17th-ranked Yellow Jackets held off North Carolina 27-21.

Thomas Brown, Georgia, rushed for 144 yards and scored the decisive touchdown with 111/2 minutes to go and the No. 9 Bulldogs held off South Carolina 17-15.

Jacobe Kendrick, Air Force, rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns to lift the Falcons to a 41-29 win over San Diego State.

Ontario Sneed, Central Michigan, scored on a 60-yard run with 1:44 remaining to help the Chippewas defeat Miami of Ohio 38-37.

Kyle Whitehurst, Hampton, returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown with 5:55 left in the fourth quarter to seal a 22-12 win over Howard.

Matt Bohnet, Eastern Michigan, threw for 263 yards and two touchdowns and added 67 yards rushing and two scores to lead the Eagles to a 31-10 win over Louisiana-Lafayette.

afael Little, Kentucky, rushed for a career-high 104 yards and returned a fourth-quarter kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, helping the Wildcats defeat Idaho State 41-29.

WEIS GUY

Charlie Weis became the first Notre Dame coach to win his first two games on the road since Knute Rockne in 1918 after a stunning 17-10 win at No. 3 Michigan. Weis won in his debut the previous week at then-No. 23 Pittsburgh.

MATCHING THE HYPE

Vince Young threw a 24-yard go-ahead touchdown to Limas Sweed with 2:37 left and No. 2 Texas defeated No. 4 Ohio State 25-22 in the much-anticipated first meeting between two of college football's most storied programs. It was the Longhorns' second straight huge victory over a Big Ten team, following their Rose Bowl win over Michigan.

DRUBBINGS

Wisconsin's 65-0 rout of Temple was the Badgers' biggest margin of victory since an 85-0 shutout of Marquette in 1915 and their highest-scoring day since piling up 69 points against New Mexico State in 1962. ... Connecticut scored the first eight times it had the ball and amassed 600 total yards in a 59-0 win over Division I-AA Liberty. ... Lock Haven has been outscored 126-0 over its last two games, including a 70-0 defeat to Towson. The Bald Eagles lost to defending Division I-AA champion James Madison 56-0 last week.

STREAKS

Utah extended its winning streak to 18 games with a 31-7 victory over Utah State. The Utes, who won the state rivalry for the eighth straight time, remain undefeated under coach Kyle Whittingham.

RUDE GUESTS

Third-ranked Michigan had its 16-game home winning streak snapped with a 17-10 loss to No. 20 Notre Dame. ... Marshall lost at home for just the eighth time since its stadium opened in 1991 after a 21-19 setback to Kansas State. ... ... Miami of Ohio had a 10-game home winning streak end with a 38-37 loss to Central Michigan.

A LEG UP

Oregon's Paul Martinez tied a school record with six field goals in a 47-14 win over Division I-AA Montana. Martinez has 11 field goals in the Ducks' first two games, two more than the team had all of last year.

STIFLING DEFENSE

No. 7 Virginia Tech limited Duke to just 35 total yards on 53 plays in its 45-0 victory, a woeful total made worse by the Blue Devils' nine penalties for 68 yards. The Hokies tallied 10 tackles-for-losses and held Duke to just 13 yards rushing on 35 attempts. ... Southern Oregon's offense managed only 64 total offensive yards in a 51-0 loss to San Diego. The Raiders had -43 yards rushing on 20 carries - a Toreros school defensive record for yards rushing by an opponent.

REBOUNDING

Drew Weatherford bounced back after struggling in his first college start, completing 26 of 37 passes for 342 yards and two touchdowns as No. 11 Florida State defeated The Citadel 62-10. He went 7-of-24 for just 67 yards in a 10-7 win over Miami last Monday. ... California's Joe Ayoob threw four first-half touchdown passes and finished with 271 yards as the No. 16 Bears topped Washington 56-17. Ayoob was 0-for-10 in his debut against Sacramento State, was intercepted by the Huskies' Darin Harris on the game's opening play and missed on his next two attempts.

TAKING ADVANTAGE

Penn State has five touchdowns off six opponents' turnovers this year, including three off four during a 42-24 win over Cincinnati. ... Iowa State capitalized on five turnovers for all its points in a 23-3 win over No. 8 Iowa. LaMarcus Hicks returned one of the Cyclones' two interceptions 28 yards for a touchdown.

RETURNING THE FAVOR

Nebraska returned two interceptions and a fumble for touchdowns in its 31-3 win over Wake Forest. The Huskers did not have a defensive touchdown all last season.

INJURIES

Iowa quarterback Drew Tate left midway through the second quarter against Iowa State with an apparent concussion. He is expected to return for next week's game with Northern Iowa. ... California running back Marshawn Lynch left the game against Washington after breaking his left pinky finger on the Golden Bears' first offensive play of the second half. ... Texas tailback Selvin Young aggravated an ankle injury late in the second quarter at Ohio State and did not return. He missed the last 10 games of the 2004 season with a broken ankle.

COMMODORE COMEBACKS

Jay Cutler threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Marlon White with 26 seconds remaining to give Vanderbilt its second straight come-from-behind win, 28-24 over Arkansas. The previous week, Jeff Jennings scored with 1:48 remaining to give the Commodores a 24-20 victory over Wake Forest, their first season-opening win since 1997.

SNAPPED

Rutgers halted a six-game losing streak with its 38-6 win over Villanova. The Scarlet Knights had lost its previous two games against Division I-AA opponents. ... Washington coach Tyrone Willingham had his seven-game winning streak against No. 16 California end with a 56-17 loss. ... Framingham State snapped a 22-game losing streak with a 14-7 victory over MIT.
