Jason Pollock, of Parker, a student at the Venango Campus of Clarion University, is one of 14 students to receive the first Central Electric Cooperative scholarship for students in the Power Systems Institute at the university.As a part of the Power Systems program, students work with Penelec personnel while pursuing associate's degrees in applied science.---

<b>Benjamin Rodgers</b>, son of Frank and Kathi Rodgers of Butler, has been selected for an internship at the Kennametal Center for Operational Excellence.A senior at St. Vincent College, he is pursuing a degree in business management.---

Indiana (Pa.) University recently selected four Butler County residents for admittance into the Robert E. Cook Honors College.<b>Andrew DeCola</b>, son of John and Mary DeCola of Slippery Rock, is a 2005 graduate of Slippery Rock High School. He plans to pursue a degree in history/pre-law.<b>Elizabeth Elliott</b>, daughter of William and Denise Elliott of Sarver, is a 2005 graduate of Freeport High School. She plans to pursue a degree in elementary education.<b>Samantha Gladd</b>, daughter of Carl and Sara Gladd of Clay Township, is a graduate of Moniteau High School. She plans to pursue a degree in pre-dentistry.<b>Katie McKeever</b>, daughter of Kenneth and Nancy McKeever of Butler, plans to pursue a degree in interior design. She is a graduate of Butler High School.---

Napco Inc. recently awarded scholarships to<b>Candice Heade</b> of Cabot,<b>Brandi Stewart</b> of Butler, and<b>Sarah Ferrese</b> of Mars.Heade, the daughter of Mark Heade, is a graduate of Knoch High School. She plans to study safety and security at Pittsburgh Technical Institute.Stewart, the daughter of Dennis Stewart, is a graduate of Butler High School. She plans to pursue a degree in criminology at Indiana (Pa.) University.Ferrese, daughter of Joseph Ferrese, is a graduate of Mars High School. She has been accepted to West Virginia University, where she plans to major in secondary education/biology.---

<b>Karen Sullivan</b>, daughter of James and Maxine Sullivan of Parker, has been awarded the Academic Achievement, Cook/Rado and Transfer Scholarships at Concord University.---

<b>Jeffrey Richards</b>, son of Tom and Mary Lou Richards of Harmony, has been accepted to Clarion University.A 2005 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, he plans to pursue a degree in communications.---

<b>Lisa Rabb</b>, daughter of James and Lanette Rabb of Slippery Rock, has been selected for membership to the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.A sophomore business management major at Penn State University, she is a 2004 graduate of Slippery Rock High School.A member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society at Penn State, she has also been named to the dean's list for her first two semesters.
