John T. 'Jack' Reiser

John T. "Jack" Reiser, 73, of Butler died Friday at UPMC Presbyterian.

Mr. Reiser was a member of the South Butler County School Board, where he current served as vice president and formerly served as president.

Born Sept. 6, 1931, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of John and Anne Ferry Reiser.

He graduated from Aspinwall High School in 1951.

Mr. Reiser was former co-owner of Allegheny Container and the president of JCR Builders.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War.

Mr. Reiser was a member of Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, where he was an Eucharistic Minister.

He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Butler, VFW Post 249 and the North Suburban Builders Association.

He had coached football, baseball and basketball in Penn Township and in Saxonburg. He also enjoyed hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Jessen Reiser, whom he married Feb. 2, 1957.

Also surviving are four sons, John Reiser and his wife, Marcy, of Butler, Christian Reiser and his wife, Kristina, of Renfrew, Kurt Reiser and his wife, Nancy, of Greenville and Nicholas Reiser and his wife, Kay, of Sarver; four daughters, Mrs. Gregory (Jacqueline) Sepaniac of Pittsburgh, Mrs. David (Lauren) McCune of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Taro (Lynda) Arai of Chadds Ford and Mrs. John (Dana) Byrnes of Pittsburgh.

Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Melvin (Patricia) Hook of Pittsburgh; 18 grandchildren, Zachary Reiser, Nicole Reiser, Kyle Reiser, Benjamin Reiser, Ethan Reiser, Elizabeth Reiser, Ashli Reiser, Veda Reiser, Cole Reiser, Jacksen Reiser, David McCune, Elissa McCune, Megan McCune, Hanna Arai, Evan Arai, Emi Arai, Grace Byrnes and J.P. Byrnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

REISER - Friends of John T. "Jack" Reiser, who died Friday, July 15, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel Maurer officiating. Burial will follow in the Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church, 6500 Old Route 8, Butler, PA 16002 or to the Simmons Center for Interstitial Lung Disease, NW628, UPMC Montefiore, 2359 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
