William M. Walls Sr.

William M. Walls Sr., 84, of Clymer, Indiana County, died Monday at home.

Born June 18, 1921, in Thayerton, Armstrong County, he was the son of Martin and Onie Ortz Walls.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a ship's serviceman Third Class in the Asiatic/Pacific Theater as well as at Pearl Harbor.

Mr. Walls previously worked for Syntron. He also had been a coal miner with Barnes and Tucker.

Mr. Walls was a lifelong resident of the Clymer area and a member of the Slovak Club in Clymer.

He loved to spend time gardening, woodworking and doing masonry projects.

He is survived by nine children, William Jr., Gary, Terry, Bruce, Robert, James, Howard, and Douglas Walls of Butler and Cindy McAdoo; 17 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Opal and Violet; a half-sister, Alice; and two brothers, Hayden and Stanley.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, May Woods Walls, who died May 13, 1990, and whom he married June 19, 1943; and a sister and an infant brother.

WALLS - There will be no public visitation for William M. Walls Sr., 84, who died Monday, July 11, 2005. A family memorial service will be planned later for the family.Arrangements are being made by the RAIRIGH FUNERAL HOME, Hillsdale.Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Family Hospice, 850 Hospital Road, Suite 3000, Indiana, PA 15701.
