Tony S. Yurkovich
Tony S. Yurkovich, 88, of 320 Home Ave. died Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 27, 1916, in Butler, he was a son of Slavko and Ljubica Yakovac Yurkovich.
He retired in 1979 from the silicon department at Armco-Butler Works after 43 years.
Mr. Yurkovich was a member of St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora until the church closed and was recently a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Orlowsky and Mary Ann Yurkovich, both of Butler; three brothers, S. Alfred York of Middletown, Ohio, Frank R. Yurkovich of Lyndora and William C. Yurkovich of Fairless Hills, Bucks County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His wife, Mary Cygan Yurkovich, whom he married Oct. 26, 1941, died May 20, 1998. He also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister, Barbara Lavorini, who died July 6, 2005.

Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora with the Rev. George Palick, officiating.
