Kenneth L. Matson
Kenneth L. Matson, 69, of Butler died at 3:04 p.m. Friday in the emergency room of Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 7, 1935, in Butler, he was the son of the late Darryl Matson and the late Helen Vinroe. He was the son-in-law of the late Robert and Thelma Clemens.
He was a member of the Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church.
Mr. Matson was a retired steelworker in the pipe shop of AK (Armco) Steel. He was an avid grouse hunter. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, wood working and building things.
Mr. Matson is the beloved husband of Sondra "Sonnie" Clemens Matson, whom he married June 8, 1957. They were married 48 years.
He was a loving father of Mrs. Tome (Marcy) Reiser and Mrs. Steve (LeAnn) Yamnitsky, both of Butler. He was a devoted grandfather to Zachary Reiser and to Steven and Marlee Yamnitsky. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Richard (Alice) Stewart and Mrs. George (Wanda) Beck, both of Butler; two brothers, Raymond and wife, Mary, Matson, and Jim and wife, Marsha, Matson of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Mark (Carol) Mincer.
MATSON - Friends of Kenneth L. Matson, who died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Bupp officiating.Burial will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
