Erma Mae Buchanan, 93, of 201 Edna St., Harrisville, died Wednesday at her daughter's home in Brookfield, Ohio.

Born in Cherry Township, Jan. 31, 1912, she was the daughter of Plummer and Elizabeth Stevenson Thompson.

She was a homemaker and had graduated from Grove City High School and The Butler Business College.

Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Harrisville United Methodist Church and the Wesley Grange.

She is survived by her husband, George N. Buchanan, whom she married Jan. 14, 1939; a daughter, Lois Bewley and her husband, the Rev. Dennis Bewley, of Brookfield, Ohio; three sons, Wayne Buchanan and his wife, Janet, of Salem, Ohio, Clifford Buchanan and his wife, Sondra and Ronald Buchanan and his wife, Sherry, all of Harrisville; and a brother, Kenneth Thompson of Austin, Texas. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Earl Buchanan; three brothers, Plummer, Clifford and Herman Thompson; and three sisters, Jessie Hinds, Laura Wilson and Agnes Stewart.

BUCHANAN - Friends of Erma Mae Buchanan, who died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at JAMISON FUNERAL HOME, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11. a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeffrey St. Clair, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
